Slow Cooker Barbeque Ribs

This recipe with alterations.

Recipe
4 pounds pork baby back ribs
salt and pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
2 cups BBQ sauce (suggest Sweet Baby Ray's)
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Season ribs with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place in a shallow baking pan. Brown in oven 15 minutes. Turn over, and brown another 15 minutes; drain fat.

In a medium bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, and some more salt and pepper.

Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour sauce over ribs and turn to coat.

Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours, or until ribs are tender. Turn ribs once halfway through cooking. For the last half hour, turn cooker on high and leave lid ajar to thicken sauce. Alternatively, remove ribs from pot and place on baking sheet; bake at 350°F for approximately 20 to 30 minutes to set sauce as a glaze.
